Save yourself

Save yourself

A Poem by L.Hansen

Save yourself
Before it's too late
Before I drag you down with me
As I've done before

How can you see
Anything worth saving in me?
Why do you stay
Even when I tell you to leave?

You should listen when I say
That I am nothing but trouble
That I'm not worth saving
That there's nothing left to save

Yet no matter what I say
You continue on
Staying by my side
Walking right next to me

Through my darkest times
Through the deepest seas
Through the endless days and nights
When all I want, is to give up

You continue on
Holding my hand
And yet I still beg you to leave
I beg you to save yourself
