I, Pandora

I, Pandora

A Poem by LJW

if i could pull this off

mark the spot with an x

catalogue the nuances

created in thin layers

understand how a form

less cantilevered

without angles
a being
without substance

devoid of purpose

or memory

or cells dependant

upon other cells
could exist

if i could commit

to figuring it all out

i would

in exodus
a promethean sojourn
on the summit

a revelation

upon my return

an unrecognizable face

hands of bleached bone

feet of clay

skin neatly folded

like a triangular flag

given to the one

who wept the most

Stark and yet strangely rich and full. I enjoyed this one for several reasons but mainly because it was extraordinarily well constructed.

impressive presentation with the picture chosen...and the nuance of emotion attached to the sojurn and its reward of trifold flag..

I was just thinking of Pandora earlier. Funny that I ran into these words today when I want to warn the world about opening that tempting box. Your words are always perfect.

Your writing is beautiful. Very succinct in it's delivery. I love reading your stuff.

If I could.... and then things are changed.
Somehow I think we're talking about a lot more than dear Pandora. And isn't that the point.

The reality is, no one can figure it all out, because if they could, it'd all be damn different.

We don't learn from the parts, we learn from the whole, all those small parts existing in concert, good and bad. What we notice are the symptoms, the iconic symbolism, and we don't have to know it to feel it.

LJW, your words are expansive and allow for everyone else's "space" in experiencing your message. Wonderful piece.
