Daydreamer

Daydreamer

A Poem by L.M.Warde

He dreamed of things he'd never seen.
Of distant lands forever green.
A place so far where all are freed.
A patch of Earth untouched by greed.

In his mind he set off to explore the quandary.
A task far worse than folding laundry.
Could the place that leaves him starved and wanting,
be only dreams, like phantoms... haunting

For now he lingers, plucking clothe from cord.
A mundane life that's left him sad and bored.
But not long from now he'll start away,
to find the land of his dreams someday.

Author's Note

L.M.Warde
Feels a little short, I may expand on this someday. I liked the idea so I had to roll with it. Saw,a picture of a man outside a courage in a dried up field, looked, like he was dreaming of better times. From.that, came this. I how you enjoy. As always, feedback is appreciated.

A patch of Earth untouched by greed. - I loved this line a lot.

If not for your note, I would have presumed that it's another dream poem. I maybe wrong, but I feel there should have been more of his perspective, something as you pointed, about his field and lands. But on a quick read, the poem fare quite good :)
