Here I lay

Here I lay

A Poem by Lacey

In the middle of the road, I lay
I stare at the dark sky
and watch the rain slowly fall on me
this is the life I lead
never able to depend on anyone, but me
they meant everything to me
but a fool I will always be to honestly believe
that they cared about me
there is no one who can put me back together
I'm broken beyond repair
from all the times they smashed me on the ground
so now I lay in the middle of the road
right where they left me
watching the rain slowly fall on me
waiting, waiting for the dark to come
because there is nothing worth saving left in me...
