Kissed By The Universe

Kissed By The Universe

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne
"

For all, but in particular for those like myself who battle with insomnia

"

The night embraces me....

He is my lover

He carresses my sleepless soul

With his tender silvery fingers

My heart finds balsamic comfort

In his velvet, indigo warmth

He sends the calming light of Venus

Through my bedroom window

He is a graceful, devoted lover

Soothing my mind

In the beautiful galaxy of the Milky Way

His glorious Pleiades cluster

Peacefully glides me through Neptune

The God water of the sea

Bathing my heart in placid, aqueous vapors

He smoothly floats my soul to Jupiter

Flying me through the myriad of stars

Passing by the serend splendor of the halcyon moon

He sends me tranquil thoughts

That send me on my way into the kingdom of slumber

When you find you cannot sleep at night my dear friend

Peacefully blend your restless heart

With the balmy rhythms of the sky

Allow it to be cradled and buttressed

In the peaceful arms of the Universe

Lay your weary head on the breast of Creation

A very enchanting and mystifying poem. A fantasy of a magical essence of the universe that goes beyond a graceful and peaceful slumber. A great poem!

i, too, suffer from insomnia, and refuse to become addicted to the toxin they attempt to lure me with, calling them "medicine"... bah! i have learned that the most restful thing one can do, is stare into the night sky. no matter where you are... the sky is up there. sometimes, when i do sleep, i feel less rested than i do after a night of sky-searching. great write!
