Crushing Uncertainties

Crushing Uncertainties

A Poem by Brittni
"

free verse poem about having a crush and being unsure how they feel

"

I see you, but you do not see me.

My heart beats for you, does yours beat for me?

I strain to see every side of you.

The ways your eyes squint when you laugh,

The way your forehead creases when you're in thought.

Is it because you're thinking about me

Or is it something more?

Have you ever considered,

That possibly the things that you seek the most

A lifetime of laughter and love

Is sitting right beside you?

Only waiting to say "hello" and hear you laugh.

I have felt this way so many damn times. I love the way this is written, with the questions and describing the little things of the person. My favorite part is:

'Have you ever considered,
That possibly the things that you seek the most
A lifetime of laughter and love
Is sitting right beside you?
Only waiting to say "hello" and hear you laugh.'

Just beautiful, and i dont know. I just love it.

This reminds me of the AFI song "Too Shy To Scream"
It's an interesting thing to ponder and moreso to write about. Truly an interesting read!

Oh, crushes. They're fantastic because you don't have to worry about being hurt-they're safe. In a lot of ways they hurt more because they are unspoken. It's a dilema, but its something everyone goes through. Anyway, the poem expresses true emotion whilst having a crush so honestly it's wonderful.

All i can say is :) I both love and hate this feeling. Funny, that silly thing called love. I've felt this way so many times. Every bit of this actually. Well done on capturing the true "human" feelings. Great free verse!

the feeling behind this is familiar to me. feeling so strongly for someone that barely seems to notice you, always seems to look in a different direction. i especially like the ending. it shows the closeness of the speaker and the object of their affection

The unsure movement of "is he thinking about me" is a headfuck and has been for the centuries of time that we've lost ESP. Its a great feeling to question. Dump the blurb, let us flow with the creativity of the piece itself, not with the explanation.

2 for 2.
Nice work
