One Desire, That Is All

A Poem by Leah

Why O Pearl, do You hide Your adored Face from me?

Will You not hear the tearing of this sore bosom?

Why O pearl, do you not allow me to behold You?

Even so O Pearl, do not cease this insatiable lust for You;

A lust, inanely righteous, it seems;

A desire, for One, Monarch of all Pearls;

A need, to please Him, and Him alone;

A Love, a Reality, for it is He who loved and loves on;

My God, my Beloved Reality;

Here, it is I, seize me and raze me;

As You desire and wish, that do;

Nevertheless, please, I beseech You…

Never cease this insatiable lust for You.
