Night Sky

This is a poem that was inspired by Trevor Kittelson's story by the same title.

Pain

Confusion

These thoughts fill his mind

as poison courses through his veins

An ache in his muscles

His very soul feels stretched

The moon, his new mistress, beckons to her slave.

Do my bidding, she commands.

Fill this world with darkness

so that only I may shine

and all will look to me.

 

His gaze driven upward

as his limbs are lengthened,

his senses heightened,

and his humanity lessened,

he looks with new eyes

into the night sky.
