The Fool Who Assumed

The Fool Who Assumed

A Poem by Lady Pearl
"

A poem about a man who assumed

"
All you have are suppositions
You held on to as the truth
Twined in your mind
With incomplete conversation
Your own imagination
Misguided information
All to spin the perfect tapestry
On your idealistic loom
And so the picture didn't match reality
Once the image has been complete
And you became quick to blame
That I had lead you to this deceit
When in fact you had failed to listen
To my warnings asking you to retreat
I tried to be kind
But you are so inclined
To make me into something I'm not
So I ended the dream
With an honest scream
"The art of speculation
Has made you the victim of your own mind"
Spin a noose
from the thread you used
And kill the tapestry
You've sewn
This is who I really am
And if you can't handle that
I'm gone

I really liked this one. It strikes me as deeply personal, displaying your true emotion. This one alone, picked at random, has me intrigued to read the rest! The style has a lot to do with it as well. I hope you keep writing and continue to upload you works here for us all to enjoy. Good work.

Absolutely my favorite writing you have posted on here... The vivid imagery, and ingrained, almost potent feeling of bordered dismay at lost understanding... Is quite starkly lit, and excellently spaced. Wordplay is vivid, imaginative, and really makes one "feel" the betrayal of reason within the confines of logic... Conversation, ideas, they can all get twisted to fit the needs of the user. We are human, some of us worse than others. Great inspiration comes with grating nuisance, sometimes. Great stuff, keep it up...

Wow. Strong enough to blow away any speculations and powerful enough to speak truth to power . No time to waste on people like that....
Excellent. ...:::))))
