Do you know the feeling?

Do you know the feeling?

A Poem by Lara Vee

Do you know what it is to drown?

Drown on land

Your feet firmly on the ground.

Do you know what it is to fly?

From your life, your feelings

To fly high above the world

Your feet firmly on the ground.

Do you know what is to choke?

Choke on your words

On your decisions

To choke on nothing at all.

Do you know what it is to die?

But be utterly Alive.

Is it too dark?

I wouldn't say this is dark in a bad way. You definitely bring out the solemnity of your message. I would merely say this comes across as a bit too short, and the ending just seems a little anticlimactic after such a wondrous pair of beginning stanzas. Or rather, the poem falls flat in Stanza 3 (something is missing there to merit the kind of ending you have now).....there's also an "it" missing from the first line of Stanza 3. Other than that, this is quite something. Very philosophical and thought-provoking. Well done!
