Just In Case

Just In Case

A Poem by Whiskurz

Just in case you say goodbye
Remember how we met
I know that soon you'll have to go
But I'm not ready yet

Cancer doesn't care who we are
Or anything we've done
It doesn't care about the tears we cry
Or that you're my only one

Just in case it hurts a lot
I will hold your hand
Don't be sad if you see me cry
I hope you understand

It doesn't take any volunteers
Or I'd be in your place
But still I pray that God takes me
And spares you just in case

Oh wow this almost made me tear but I had to hold it in cause I am at work and don't want my co-workers seeing me all teary eyed. This was a beautiful poem though. I really can't find any other words to describe this poem but beautiful. Great write.

This is a wonderful piece. So beautiful, and emotional, and strong. I love it.

A bittersweet concoction of selflessness, death and love... and the beauty and toll of fatality aside. Such a lovely piece :)

This is so emotional – the flow and pace are both seamless and the rhyming scheme seems so unforced that the poem takes on such a natural feel that lends itself to the gravity/reality of the topic.
I'm not going to lie - I got some serious chills reading this, especially that last verse.
Absolutely amazing!!
