Fireflies

Fireflies

A Poem by Whiskurz

I miss the days on my front porch
Watching the fireflies glow
A peaceful place where time stands still
Where all the honeysuckles grow
Where willows dance beneath the moon
And shadows come alive
A place without a care in the world
Where all the swallows dive
A place where God might come to smile
And marvel at His creation
A place where angels watch in awe
Filled with jubilation
In a place that's filled with secrets
Where morning glories sleep
For they only awaken once a day
To watch the willows weep
I miss the days on my front porch
Back when life was slow
A magical place beneath the stars
Watching the fireflies glow

wow! this is amazing :) It took me to another place while I was reading- A happier place.. one where everything did use to be carefree.. I especially love the ending. "A magical place beneath the stars
Watching the fireflies glow"
Nicely done.

The peaceful moments we forever cherish and have us thinking back on. Your poem was very pleasant and joyous to memories, sweet memories of the past. :)
