Author's Note

Inspired by a recent event, still unsure of the details, but this police officer arrested a black Harvard professor for trying to get into his own home after locking himself out. The police officer called that professor a "banana eating jungle monkey."

Prejudice is not a bad thing. Prejudice without sound judgement is a bad thing. Ignorance is an evil that leads to prejudice without sound judgement. Dr. King once said that a person should be judged solely on the content of their character. That is prejudice with sound judgement. Recently Bob Dylan was arrested in Jersey for walking down the street. He was dressed in sweat pants, loose shoes and a baggy shirt and picked up on charges of being a vagrant. But the young lady who arrested Mr. Zimmerman (aka Bob Dylan) had the courtesy to give him the benefit of a doubt and took him to his hotel ( he didn't have any I.D.) where she was met by Bob's chief of security who told her yes, this was indeed Bob Dylan. The police officer in your story should have his badge taken away. He isn't fit to enforce the law. He has no sound judgement because of his ignorance. A person's skin color has nothing to do with the content of their character. Nice write in a very few words.

I hate cops, I get pulled over for no
fucken reason all the time
