Happy Farthers Day

Happy Farthers Day

A Poem by LatoyaEvans

Distance grows between us like mold on bread,
All the fucked up things you did and the messes up thing you said.
You walk into the room and see me and you make me wish I was dead.
I can't help but to feel something you're my father at least that what my mother said.
No word is spoken just glares and stares thrown hatefully across a room,
then you decide to leave and you took all your miserable words with you.
So what it fathers day, you looking at me with your hand out man. I don’t even know you
Do you know me?
Do you know that I participated in marches and protested the injustices of the world
yet the only revolution I needed was from you to recognize me as your baby girl.
Did you know I have to kids of my own and I would never do them the way you did me,
Father the Farther your move away the less me you'll see of me.
This whole I have in my heart will remain empty.
