Only the Birds Know

Only the Birds Know

A Poem by Little Whisper

I fear what I will suffer in my dreams...
I avoid sleep until sleep sucks me in.

I yearn for the joy of Mount Hope.

Plunging with the startled birds that took flight at my
accidental disturbance as I raced down Her perfect mountain side.

If only my dreams could take me back to that Hope...

I feel like I can relate You either want to avoid the sleep or jump back in to try to fix it to end it on a good note.

Yes and yes... Thank you Nobody. Thank (You). :)
So interesting for me to read this, as I know of an actual place called "Mount Hope". It is a place so small, they rarely bother to include it on maps! It is in outback Australia: but a pub surrounded by gnarly dry gum trees and - plenty of birds (that don't startle easy)

So nice to be reading your words. The blackbirds are back. I say that with wonder and trepidation. I want to know more about this MOUNT HOPE. I miss "us".
