The Soul man

The Soul man

A Poem by Laura Kate
"

he's coming

"
"Taken"
 she screams,
"taken..."
 she screams,
"from the soul man!"
- from the soul man ?

"Taken" she screams,
taken!" she screams,
- from the soul man?
"from the soul man!"

Running.....
running......
footsteps down the stairs,
footsteps on the stairs
tap
tap
tap
tap,

faster,
faster,
footsteps....
footsteps.

open, close
open
... close

he's looking
he's looking.....

the doors... the doors!
open
close
open
close,
the doors,
oh the doors...

there must be another way out of here
there must be another way out

round to the right
climb the next flight
out through the door
look back no more

in through the back
out though the hatch
stop looking back
you're wasting time

go
go!
....go
go!!!!

he's right behind you
just on the other side
- the soul man?
"the soul man !"

it's almost to me like her conscience following her...her past sins catching up...as she tries to outrun the life she led before...trying to start over.

Yes I see that too, I like your interpretation Jacob, thank you
This is chilling. I imagine he is a stealer of souls. Very good idea for a horror story I think.
