Is This All There Is To Life?

Is This All There Is To Life?

A Poem by Laura Harrison

You are born, life sucks, and then you die

Is this all there is to life?

You do the same thing every single day

Just for death to come and take it all away

Go to school, go to college and get a job

Keep on working until life stops

Find the perfect home and the perfect man

Just do what anyone tells you that you can

But ignore the rules, do what you like

Don’t let anyone tell you how to live your life

Do all the things that you’ve always wanted to do

Live your dream until it’s taken away from you

I loved this Laura.
Everyone feels like this allot of the time, i feel like allot of people can relate to it including me.
My boyfriend thinks this was the best piece in my competition, i guess he can really relate to it.
I guess that was the best thing about this piece.
Its so deep, meaningful and filled with emotion.
Great write hun :)

Some things seem so exciting and cool - and yeah, they really can be. Til you get broken or jailed or both. Sometimes it's lucky to die - the pain is over. And you already know peeps get hurt doing things that aren't regulated. But jail wrecks your WHOLE life. Jobs are affected big time. And all your friends find ways to forget you.

We each match the rush to the risk and decide... sometimes the risk IS the rush. Seems we ARE all invulnerable til we aren't.
