In a Perfect World

In a Perfect World

A Poem by Laura Harrison

1.     In a perfect world,

war wouldn’t exist

we would sort out our differences

with long conversations, tea and biscuits.

In a perfect world,

there would be no bombings,

no kidnappings, murdering’s or school shootings.

Nobody would get bullied

Discriminated against or segregated.

Everything that was once corrupt

would be eradicated.

Yes, there would be no evil in a perfect world,

we would all love one another

and not just only after

thousands have been killed.

But this is the world we live in

and it’s the only one we’re going to get

but what if I told you

that it’s never too late to change that?

What if I told you

that the power to change the future

is in our hands?

It would take a long time

and the world could never be perfect

but if we could stop even the tiniest evil

don’t you think it would be worth it?
