Foreign Eye

Foreign Eye

A Poem by Laura Sui
"

A little something I wrote for an english project in the early hours of the morning.

"

I see right through you,

and you, right through me.

For a moment, I drowned

in a pool of aqua and amber.

With just a flicker of your eye,

you’ve seen everything in time.

What happened to the smiles,

where the stars disappeared.

Your pupils dilated.

the bottomless, black bowls of night.

The baby blue bordering the spheres.

They danced and pranced,

golden, glowing, glancing away.

Its sprightly spirits bring a ballad to a waltz.

But nobody else sees this,

nobody else sees you.

They deem you too small,

far too insignificant.

Within a moment, a moment of release.

You disappear into the air.

Gone with the wind,

until we are reignited again.
