Walking in the Rain

Walking in the Rain

A Poem by Laurierose
"

I'll be there. Waiting...

"
Stick it through
Fight for the bad
Take the time
Don’t be sad
This big, big world
Is like a prism
Don’t walk in the rain
Smile with the sun
Along with its optimism
Taking the easy
While dealing with the tough
You’ll get there soon
You'll get there soon enough
Negotiate with reason
And remember how the sun sang
I’m loving you too much right now
I’ll be there waiting
When you get through the rain
Quelling the feeling
That loving you will ignore
See, with love there comes healing
You will think of “rain”
No more

This is a very thoughtful way of using the "rain" and "sun" metaphors. Your style seems simple & straightforward, but your sincere desire to encourage is banging like a drum (in a good way). It's very comforting to believe that someone will be waiting when we get thru tough times, whether it's a friend or a pet or God or any other supportive entity. This is a great way to uplift your reader (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I like the use of anthropomorphism in most poetry. It's very personable. I'm glad you enjoyed this. .. read more

I love the head on style that you use in your writing. Thee is never anything veiled about the points that you make. The rhyme scheme in this on works well with the flow and the rhythm. It makes me want to move the hell on and get out of that rain. Great work!

My pleasure ..
We used to dance in the rain
face to the sky
- stamp in the puddles.
Rain hid the tears,
washed away the pains
gave my spirit a way to heal.
She took the sun,
brought the clouds,
left me so cold and still...
I learned to love the "thunders" -
lightnings' peals -
and the faerie held my hands
'til I danced ...again.

Oh, my how lovely! I've felt this. Resonated with me, more so. Who knew rain held such power?

Thank you.
I love the rain in late spring and summer... I love the sun when it isn't blazing to hot.... But I love the way you brought them to life.... Thank you for sharing

Thanks so much, Ghost! Nature is the best inspiration.
