Climbing Stares

Climbing Stares

A Poem by Laurierose
"

Every misstep I take; Elevate me.

"

Step by step

We're climbing this social ladder

Except the stares are shallow;

With one look, you could crumble

And plummet down to that first step

It's the first stare that matters

You are master of your reflection

Thick skin is developed when

You've weathered the reality of

The initial step

You're not alone, though

Those stares are steep

But not damaging

Only you know your own depth

Though naked, never transparent;

They can't see through you

They can't see the hand that's reached inside already

And pulled out the tools needed

To coat such nakedness

You don't dodge or skip

You just take it slow

Step by step

Escorted by kind rail

However, you're stronger;

Push on.

Let go.

Wise words my friend
You never know who is watching as you climb the slippery social ladder - waiting to ponce and take your place
There comes a time when you reach a point social level is negated we all just get the same treatment when you give up work > You cant do that AT YOUR AGE _ I always ask WHY NOT?

Great poem about advancing on the social ladder. And is it really worth it in the end? Pretending you fit in when you actually just want to be yourself.

I heard that my kind of people:) I can tell you wise about human behavior and giving back those great tools you so use as expressions to pick up face that wind be strong without the doubts. Each one of us is winners and yes it is up to us to shine. This reminds me of values:) but it also relates to the gym as well- The Stair Climber it fit it to a tee as well. Many have this fear who have never been to a gym there scared to death someone is watching but what they don't understand is all have this stone cold look on there faces who faced the fear using that fear as a fuel. Their minds focused upon bad events in life the hard words the hurts and pains. It pushes them to great victory I know I am one uses that fear and lets go of it all when I leave that gym saying that part of the past is now gone feeling proud and stronger:)

Thank you for the kind review!
I like the double meaning of "stare"---
and as this exemplifies to me...be what you are...and only worry about what you think of yourself and what you do in life...if you think you matter, you do...what others think is immaterial.
