Whims of Moonlight

Whims of Moonlight

A Poem by Laurierose
"

Do you miss me, too?

"
Eyes misted once I read
I closed them and shook my head
Breathed in my resolve, and stared hard
Instead
Sheets have dropped in temperature
Hands have caressed the firm lines
In bed
This roof of dreams once reflected night
Of stars that captured the whims of moonlight
Future uncertain yet presently clear;
Even a love, so tight, could be bound
By fear

I do agree.
"Even a love, so tight, could be bound
By fear"
Fear can make sweetness turn sour. Very nice flow of words led reader to a honest ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Feat does indeed mute loves call but thankfully fear tears apart the ego too.

It's a dual edge sword, for sure. Thanks for the thoughtful review!!
You did a great job telling how sad was that. Yes it was good how you created images with words.

You've described the fear and love concept in an expert way. I can feel what you're talking about. Excellent poem.

I love how you've captured such feelings interwoven in these lines. Thank you!
This made me shiver, and also made me feel lonely, in a romantic kind of way. Moonlight will always do that to me. You did a great job capturing a feeling with little word usage. Great poets can do that.

Really interesting idea that is not too common, but it is so true. Love is always laced with fear. Fear of losing the person to an affair, a car accident, cancer, or simply feelings fading. Or maybe you mean fear more literally, like in the case of the complexity of feelings that goes with domestic disputes. So many interpretations... loved it!

Drawn in by the mention of moonlight. Beautiful imagery comes across to the reader, as does the emotion in your lines. 'sheets have dropped in temperature", this really encapsulates someone is missing from the bed.An enjoyable read.

You're very welcome.
I love moon-writes, so was naturally drawn to your title and the poem didn't disappoint either. I like the imagery in this one and the emotion definitely tugs the reader's heart. Nicely penned, L.

You would always think that love and fear could never go together, but here they are.
Love is roses to begin with. But roses also have thorns.
Thinking poem this one, like it.
