A Beautiful Soul

Even a beautiful soul can be tainted with poison.

Once upon a time, I found a soul.

It was a beautiful sight to see.

Shinning with such a brilliance as I had never seen before.

I was en-captured by its charm and splendor. 

It drew me on an adventure that took my very breath away.

I could not count the number of suns that set on my happiness. 

I swore to it that I would never leave,

That there would not be a day to pass with us apart.

So many time my heart clung to that oath. 

My eyes watched as my heart waited out sun after sun.

The days turned into nights. 

Night turned a hallowed hell that brought nothing byt tears.

But still my heart endured on, it kept its word. 

I watched as it was trudged on. 

I watched as a beautiful soul was poisoned.

Turned against itself, I watched as it destroyed those around it. 

The sun no longer sets on our happiness.

The sun no longer brings light to a day of adventure,

But instead leaves a night of curious thought and pondering.

It leaves behind an after taste of anguish. 

Some times I look at that soul and my heart wonders,

What could I have done?
