The Sadist

The Sadist

A Poem by LawrenceRaybon
"

A riddle poem written about a particular famous writer, can you guess who it is?

"

Oh, I fear I’m a sadist

My protagonists all end up dead

And until there’s a twist

With a bright bloody mist

I just can’t seem to lay down my head

Oh, I think I’m a sadist

Misleading my readers in style

I promise them dragons

But then give them wagons

Of dead heroes heaped in a pile.

Oh, I know I’m a sadist

When the editors ask for my pages

They start to sputter

When they hear me mutter

They won’t be ready for ages

The description is flummery, the humanism speak more volume than once assumed. The words point to a reason and direction, may one ask or assume?
