Fractured Wings

Fractured Wings

A Poem by Legion
"

A love poem I wrote for my wife after she was hurt and became disabled which really changed the direction and dynamics of our marraige.

"

Fractured Wings

(for Cari)

Gazing upon a slumbered form,

Holding a whisper of

"I miss you.".

Not daring to speak aloud

For fear of breaking

The moment,

Like the fractured wings

That bear the burden

Of your agony.

Gazing upon a slumbered form,

Clinging to the thought,

"I need you.".

Knowing the turmoil

That etches its sadness

On your soul,

I strive to continue

To support and strengthen

What is torn.

Gazing upon a slumbered form,

Contemplating a wish,

"I want you.".

Indefinite as to ascertain

How to mend a mind

As well as the spirit,

And the body that encompasses.

The abode that I hold

In reverence and awe.

Gazing upon a slumbered form,

Grasping the knowledge of

"I love you.".

Wow. This was a really heart-touching write. It must have been such a shock to the heart when something like this happened, but you stood by your woman, like a man should. It's so nice to read your work and come to terms that, "hey, there really is real men out in the world"! Just need to address that I'm sorry for what has happened to your wife, however you are an angel my friend. This was so well penned.

This is really touching... love is two paris of wings so when one can't fly it's up to the other to carry them higher... it shows great character for you as you demonstrate what it takes to be a real man.

Oh, Legion, this brings me to tears, as I know how rare it is for someone to stand by, protect, care for, love, one who is, except for a miracle, having major daily health problems. This is beautiful, in words, concept, flow, rhythm and subject. Barbara

This is quite stunning. I am so sorry to hear about your wife's travails and warmed to hear that you stood by her. Beautifully written. I like your use of repetition in this piece. Wonderfully penned. Thank you for sharing your immense talent.

If you let it, it can take you somewhere you may not want to go. If you let it, it can take you to that certain moment that is both a smile and a tear. If you let it, it can take you...
