We humans barter, steal and sell ourselves (many times to the devil) to gratify our earthly desires.
God on the other hand, asked nothing of us other than to go and multiply and follow his commands.
Then he created Adam and Eve...and look what happened!
Then he got ticked off and created the big flood...and guess what...we still didn't learn a thing.
Now we are worried about Armeggedon...when will mankind ever learn!!!!
Loved this...short...and to the point. Wouldn't change a thing!
You've seized upon a delicious irony here that makes for a short, but hard-hitting poem that should hit pretty close to home. i enjoyed it and I am certain that I will ruminate over it for quite a while.
I always thought man made God in his own image. A vengeful, angry, petty creature, vain and destructive, indecisive and ignorant, weak and cruel. That is man in a nutshell and he would have his God be the same. I like this, very thought provoking.
Why shouldn't man strive to be god like? After all She gave us the free will to choose for ourselves the path we shall take. For something quick and easy this has a lot to say and could spark a very interesting debate about God and man's purpose. That takes talent. Very well done.
You're poem would have been good if it's idea weren't stale and unoriginal. I remember hearing the two view points cut and pasted here about God's existence throughout middleschool by basic books, but now it is boring and bland white noise.
This an important message. Man also made "heaven". And because he made heaven he had to create the opposite, the hell. Man created everything. I see my world like this. We are gods, we create with our thoughts, we are all that we always wanted to be.
Beautiful fundamentals here: I loved - "To procreate / And proliferate " ------this is ahh just amazing.

Also thanks a lot for your positive review and the advice about "achy", of course, I changed it. That's why I hate to write in German or Slovak or Russian and then - translate. There are always mistakes.
wow. simply written but powerful. i love the simple truth this holds. god made us. then in reality man made god into what man desired him to be, to suit our needs, to answer our mysteries, to right our wrong, etc. a brilliant piece.
I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
