Will it end?

Will it end?

A Poem by Legolas
"

Poem about depression.

"

I walk through my sadness,

pausing every so often

to tell myself, "I am worthless".

Is there an end in sight?

Maybe. But the way I feel,

death is the only end.

Depression envelops me like a dark storm cloud,

pouring teardrops down on me,

thunder booming my mistakes in my ears,

lightning scorching my happiness.

I am not happy.

I am alone.

No friends to stand by my side.

Nothing.

No one.

Will it end?

Man this is sad. This poem is competing against my entry in biggest struggle contest. Mine was called "After the Home coming" all about 09 when I came back to the world after my last deployment to Iraq and ran into some problems with civilian life. This poem is really good and it's more relatable than mine. Great Job.

This is how we all feel sometimes. It is important to keep your chin up and to not let anything keep you from being happy!

I guess that it's always going to be a looming cloud over your head, a storm that randomly rolls in when the weather is suddenly good. Depression is like that, sneakily creeping up on you. But you have friends now, and you can get through it and hope for brighter days.

The poem's phrasings, especially lines seven to ten are incredible. It makes people who have never gone through depression a glimpse to see what it's like. Just, wow.

In this short poem, you basicly summed up the felling of entire hopelessness and worthlessness that depression gives you. The only thing to fix is you said "pouring down on me teardrops" which doesn't quite make sense. I really like the way you say "lightning booming my mistakes in my ears" because it's true, depression never lets you forget mistakes of the past, no matter how big or small. Instead, it torments you with them, pointing out ways you could have avoided them. Overall, a really well done poem that captures the essence of depression flawlessly.
