Night Time Rush

Night Time Rush

A Poem by Leigh

A teardrop of Moon sits low over valleys of shadow

And above a standing army of dandelion clocks too

And when the purple night breeze rises high

A million floating time seeds fill the twilight air

Precariously drifting to some hopeful meadow

Some are carried up to the foothills of Star mountain

And some are swept low to drown in dark waters

While the bulk silently fly in the middle air

Those that are not prey to nightbirds on the wing

Manage to touchdown like a parachutist landing

Onto the soft, wet and fertile soil

In the desperate journey of the night time rush

Beautiful imagery. "Purple night breezes", I see so clearly in my mind. I understand the title for it fits so well with the poem. This poem reads so smoothly and plays so smoothly in my mind's eye. Wonderfully penned. tyfs

something that gives relief of silence, esp. when 'Night Time Rush' is read in time... nice decoration of thoughts w/ words.

Beautifully written. Love the imagery. This paints a pretty cool picture of life in general. Some of us fall, some of us shoot up to the stars, but most of us simply ride in the middle hoping to have a life of meaning.

Love this poem & your exquisite imagery. Love this line: "A million floating time seeds fill the twilight air" . .. love the way you present the dandelion artwork along with dandelion word splashes, but this is a nighttime scene & usually I think of dandelions as being a daylight observation. I love this unexpected way of looking at the dandelion as being part of the night (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
