Each Scar Tells a Story

Each Scar Tells a Story

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

as its says

"
each borderline mirror,
broken fragments,
an open eye,

each missed edge,
every cut of missed intent
calls for hands of glass

sharp for loss, for splinters,
broken pictures and edges that
form a skin of red hills

that shapes and bleeds and
cries a trail of doors and loss,
and all of this and less

tells a story.

All the fractured parts and scars , they tell a story of life and loss beautifully expressed.

This poem is sharp in more ways than one. Excellent writing.

Leslie as always you delight with your well crafted, intelligent poetry. Your use of the metaphor mixed with images of reality works so well in telling the tale of self harm. You manage to capture the feelings of sharpness, our horror at cutting and of blood. Some of these lines are simply breath-taking!
