Misleading

Misleading

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

This is a story I wrote about how misleading the beauty of a rose can be.

"

Long stemmed rose
Nature green
Slim in height
Holds aloft the royalty of flowers
in all her delight
Regal red
pretty in pink
or snow white
So much variety
Some perfumed in fragrance
others barren in scent
but all steeped in beauty
God's intent
So perfect......and flawed
Each noble rose
possesses a thorn
A soldier if you will,
sharp enough to draw forth blood
when the skin is torn
from the prick of it's sharpened head
to protect his majesty's garments
from intruding dread
