My Sweet Penny

My Sweet Penny

A Poem by Peyton Light
"

A poem for Penny

"

My sweet Penny, come back to me.

I only see you in my dreams.

We used to laugh, and count the stars.

Now you always seem so far.

I know what I said, but that was so long ago.

Just let the past be the past, and let the future flow.

Sometimes I wonder, did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?

I should’ve shouted across the rooftops so the words could travel far!

Give me one more chance my dear,

Leave the rain and dry your tears.

I’ll show them what you mean to me!

I’ll show you what it means to…to…believe…

Penny…I’m…I’m so sorry…

These lines are so beautiful!
"Let the past be past and let the future flow."
"give me one more chance my dear, leave the rain and dry your tears"
I can really feel the emotion on this one.
Just one comment, next time try to include a brief description of penny, what was she like, what did she do, why are you saying sorry, to form a subconscious conclusion to the reader. But hey, what do I know?
This was really good!
