Just Human

Just Human

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

I look around to try and find you
Because I swore that you found me
How can I be expected to keep my faith
When I feel you have no faith in me

I'm hurting, I feel broken
As if I'm without a soul
I ask you to lead me, show me purpose
So once again I may feel whole

Lean not to my own understanding
Trust in you with all my heart
You shall lay a path before me
Based upon your plan, upon your art

I'm asking for your guidance
For you to bless me, if you can
I'm not you, I'm not perfect
I am merely just human

Are you there and are you listening
Or am I talking to myself
I hate not knowing, this is my life
And you have made me overwhelmed

I'm told that if I pray to you
You will answer me in your own time
So I do it, follow blindly
With no reason or no rhyme

Yes. No. Wait. are not sufficient
That's just like if you did not exist
Come to me, gain MY acceptance
Look at this world, I'm done with this

No more shall I fall victim
To manipulations control
I want you, to step in and do YOUR JOB
Or just please leave us alone

Awakenings are meaningless
When the answers do not show
If no resolve, why give them to us
I think it's time for you to go
