Death walks beside me

Death walks beside me

A Poem by Lexi Wilkins

As Death walks beside me
I listen with tearful eyes
The sound of Angels laughter
The sound of their cries

It's lonely in this hallway
No shadows on the wall
A blanket full of darkness
My soul about to fall

The madness consumes me
So many thoughts in my head
Rattling like thunder
I know I'll soon be dead

How much further are we going
How much longer shall it take
Death takes my hand
He surely knows my fate

Nicely written and I understand it too well.

I really love this poem. Death is one of my favorite aspects in writing. Like 90% of my pieces involves some kind of death or outlook of death.
