The Pain of a Rose

The Pain of a Rose

A Poem by Lexi Wilkins

How could I forget
The last time that we met
You had teardrops in your eyes

I tried to kiss them all away
But the pain still remains
The memory of a love gone cold

It doesn't matter how hard I try
I know you're gonna say goodbye
Cuz baby, that's all your heart knows

The pain of a rose

How could I forgive
The last time that we met
You gave me every piece of you

I tried to push you away
Forget the games you've played
The memory of a broken heart

It doesn't matter how hard I try
I know you're gonna say goodbye
Cuz baby, that's the way life goes

The pain of a rose

Nice piece. Reminds me of few things. All good writes are not written from head, rather from the heart. Loved the fact, you kept it simple and subtle and in a way personalized it with few 'baby' references. Good work. Keep it up!!
