Inseparable

Inseparable

A Chapter by Alexis

He sits in the dark kitchen of his house

Staring at the collection of knives on the counter

Millions of thoughts are flying through his head

He can't stay in this world anymore

He can't hold on for much longer

No matter how much he tries

His closest, dearest friend

Is all he stays alive for

Without her, he's nothing

He receives a call from her house

It's not her, though

It's her mother

She sounds as though she just got done crying

She stutters

He drops the phone

Rage pulses through him

He throws things from the cupboards

Knocks over the table and chairs

He storms over to the knives and takes one

He runs to the front door and out onto the street

He runs until he just can't anymore

Once he stops,

He looks down at his reflection in a puddle of water

His tears add to the small pool of water

She's gone and now he has no meaning

He doesn't scream, doesn't flinch

Just drives the knife into his heart

In his last moments

His very last thought,

Now we can be together forever in Heaven
