So Don't You Go Giving Up

A monologue I wrote for English last week. :3

Life is no easy, simple breeze

Life is a thunderstorm

First comes the slow, quiet drops of rain

The beginning

With time, the droplets start coming faster

But don’t you fret, don’t you cry

Flashes of light ignite the sky

and just when you think you can take no more,

there’s that CLAP of thunder

Weak trees fall over, uprooted

But you… You’re still standing

So don’t you go giving up

Because there’s a rainbow in the distance
