EndeavorA Poem by Alexis:(Young child, this was never supposed to happen I don't know what appeared in you that one horrible day When I heard the words of your misfortune, I was speechless as I stood I did not know what to do, or what I even could As your heart beats, my spirit rises Just knowing that you're alive The never ending smile you have on your face; It never seems to be put away in a case The cancer was no match for your happiness Regardless of the pain it put you and your family through And when they told me the cancer actually took you away I stood there once again, not knowing what I should say I saw the tears fall down their cheeks as they heard the terrible news All the saddened faces filled with agony I felt my eyes burn hot I knew we would all miss you a lot But rest in peace, dear child, for God welcomes you home with open arms You'll live on forever and ever Never again to face such a tragic endeavor. © 2011 AlexisAuthor's Note
