Left By Yourself

Left By Yourself

A Poem by Alexis
"

...

"

Lost in the depths of the deepest trench,

Soiled into the dirt where there's no oxygen,

Pushed into the dirty water and forced to drink it

Left by yourself where no one will hear your cries.

Abandoned in the darkness of the room with no light,

Lather me in the words of your relentless ways,

Dropped into the well to lie at the bottom,

Left by yourself where no one is going to help you.

Stranded in the wilderness with frightening creatures,

Mocked by their faces of hunger and excitement,

Poked, pushed and pulled by their sticky fingers,

Left all alone where no one will ever see me again.

Greatly written poem. I think of this as a reminder of what it feels to be backstabbed by a friend you once had a enormous trust in. How it feels to be left aside for the dead, left with the still hurtful thought of being hurt. Then, you would be too scared to give trust to another person merely because of this thought. Nice poem, once again.

I thought this was an interesting poem. I felt like I didn't have a friend to talk to or be by my side when I needed them. I liked the emotion in your words in this poem. I like the loneliness you feel within the poem. I think you did a great job. Thanks for sharing. :D
