How?A Poem by Alexis
Light, minuscule fingertips
softly graze the quiet waters
showing such love and affection
Are they always so gentle?
Strong, yet thin arms
embrace my fragile self
showing such care and protection
How could you love me so much?
Dark, soft eyes
peer into my inner self
they suggest that you'll always be there
Why do you care for someone like me so much?
Throughout the years I've fallen many times
Throughout the years you've picked me back up
Best friends until the end
What could ever separate us?
Rough, dry fingertips
pierce through the shattered waters
showing such hate and disgust
You've never been gentle.
Ruthless, tough arms
squeeze and break my heart to pieces
showing such carelessness and danger
Why do you despise me so much?
Penetrating, harsh eyes
stab at the confidence I once had
they tell me you'll never care
How could you abandon me like this?
