Depression is just a feeling

Depression is just a feeling

A Poem by Lexi

Depression is just a feeling.

However, it’s really not.

Depression has become me,

and everything that I aspire to be.

Depression has become the hunch in my back,

and depression has become the slope in my grades.

If only depression was like a wolf.

A wolf would tear me to pieces, ignoring my pleas and cries.

But once the wolf was done feasting it would leave me in my pain

to deal with it, however, I could.

But depression does not grant you that reprieve,

instead, it makes you tear your own skin apart.

Nothing you do can sate the bloodlust, whether

murder or suicide.

Depression prefers to feast upon your broken heart,

sucking the life out and leaving an empty carcass behind.

That's exactly how i feel. I love the words you used to describe depression.
Waiting to read more of your works.
