Writer's Block

Writer's Block

A Poem by Li Yan
"

A poem I wrote to overcome a writer's block I had at the time.

"

I stare at the blank page before me

And tap my pen again

Tap. Tap. Tap.

My mind, just like the page

Blank. Blank. Blank.

"Just do it" they say, "It's your talent. You'll manage"

But what do they know about the art of words?

About the delicate swirls it flourishes

And the primary colours of red, yellow and blue?

They do not know about the hidden treasure buried in them

More priceless than diamonds and gold

Words must be cherished and treated carefully

For if you tread with less care than what is required

You will step on that one spot of frail ice

And sink into the lake

You must allow the words to approach you

And never force them to.

After all, if you really wish for your voice to be heard

Then it is nothing but an echo, which you must make

This is great, love how you were able to get some visualization on the colors and even the tapping of the pen. Enjoyed this. Great job!
