A Dark Matter

A brief poem touching on the importance of continued scientific funding and exploration

A Dark Matter
De-fund science, lose the future
They’re not doing it for the hell of it
The elegance lies not in the intelligence but in its relevance
So we can get to deep space
AND report back again
So our children’s children’s children
Can be saved from the world’s end
And go where our civilization can begin again
Ignite rocket fire so we can escape from the frying pan
Remember that’s it’s only one small step for man
We can float forever, but you need science to land

Dark matter is a theorized form of matter that is believed to account for approximately 80% of the matter in the universe, and about a quarter of its total energy density. Your poetical approach to the subject matter is interesting … good job!
