Fall Asleep

Fall Asleep

A Poem by Liderien
"

Inspired by Rajin Cajun

"

fall asleep, fall asleep young man

the night is not yet o'er

the fight will soon begin

take no thought on the morrow

it will care for itself

but rest your weary head

it suits best for you right now

Tomorrow may bring to an end

the fight you're living for

or it may bring another day

to fight again once more

fall asleeep, fall asleep young man

the night is not yet o'er

the pain will soon begin

This is well written. Feels like a nightmare warning. Has a great flow to it that seems to build intensity until the end.

The story in this poem feels like post-apocalyptic. Enjoyable!

What I like here is the repeat of the theme in the last verse, and the traditional o´er, gives it a kind of 19th century feeling, simple, effective poetry, well done.
