Faith

Curiously looking over the edge

Unknowing past the darkness below

I’m scared to leave the ledge

But my only choice is to go

I continue to look down

Then I take a look behind

In the darkness my past will drown

Other options I could not find

Whatever is left behind will be gone

There is no turning back

All I can do is move on

But faith is what I lack

If I jump will I be free

I want to go but I do not know

Can I escape this agony

There is nowhere else I can go

I close my eyes and take a leap

No longer bound by a chain

Finally free I begin to weep

With my faith I escaped the pain

Escape into the unknown. It's a frightening and exciting idea. I'm very familiar with it. This is a great poem, it made me think. Love it.
