The Introduction

The Introduction

A Poem by LilyT

hello me

lavender eyes under black light

I still develop photographs the old fashioned way

the chemicals

liquids

the ghost imprints

my fingertips lean to make a pass

along the edges

bringing the day into focus

images have always been my companions

my camera

an extension of my possibilities

hello you

may I take your photograph?

Hello beautiful you~ a simple penning with good style and definition. I like it. Hope you will post some of your photos soon. I love to play amateur photographer with my digital, but the closest I've ever come to old fashion developing was when I worked in the art department of a manufacturing company that used photo negatives with light sensitive polymer to make flexographic printing plates so we could print those Chic Jeans tags and other commercial stuff. I liked it. =)

i like this one, captures photography perfectly. this was a lovely poem, i enjoyed this one! nice job, you definitely know how to create a vivid scene. "the chemicals, liquids. the ghost imprints. my fingertips lean to make a pass. bringing the day into focus." i felt as if i was there in the darkroom, inhaling the chemicals. :]

so simple...so complete! The communication cycle of life simply goes out...and comes in. But then there are those who actually RECEIVE! Having indulged in the photographic persuasion of a manual pentax with my many lenses and an avid obsession of the black and whites, I find this a starkly factual representation...much like the images you salute

You have an expert grasp on the construction of metaphors to convey a deep emotional connection, which animates inanimate objects in your writing.

photography is a world all its own to the chemistry between subject and eye behind the lens; your introduction is engaging; an experience any one would be flattered to be taken upon.

I can almost smell the acid smell of the darkroom chemicals.

It takes the eye of an artist to create spectacular photographic art. I like the simplicity matched with old school appreciation & skill.

Smiles.... I too like to view the world through the lens of a camera....

...i was floored by this. -the understatement--if i went on about THAT at will, it'd be longer than your poem.

really crisp focus, Lily...but i like the blurry figures in the background even MORE.

although the digital age has brought a new dimension to photography, there is still something that developing a picture in a dark room holds that digital can not..there is something personal..creative..and earthy about it..your poem has a stylish come hither feel..
