Then & Now

Then & Now

A Poem by Linda

I met you at my lowest.. I was surrounded in the dark,

but you came and showed me the blinding light that shined inside.

You gave me life.

I still remember the words that slipped through your lips "fall... I'll catch you, because you are mine."

Never did I spill the secret stories that my stories spoke...

But something about you... God, how easily those walls broke.

I always told myself to not fall in love.

I never knew why until time went by and I saw passed your hazel eyes

So many years...

So many tears...

All my fears...

They all came true...because of you

Now here I sit with the bottle of rum, drowning myself in numbness to erase the pain.

Yet, it wont go away.

All the memories. Everything you did to me.

You created an illusion so beautifully.

Now here I am.

Picking up the pieces you shattered.
