Antique Minds, Vintage Lips

Antique Minds, Vintage Lips

A Poem by Karina Longo
"

Lyrics inspired by Velvet Underground and The Kills.

"
Sure thing, all the love was lost
Lost in time, when time sometimes
Means nothing at all
It’s just a fact, the fate of our changing faces
Hair colours deceiving as autumn leaves and cold places
I refuse to see, you refuse to be
And the old times are just lost torn photographs
Of you and me

Noisy hearts blown as the heavy typewriters
In which nobody will write the ultimate romance
The masterpiece is to be released when all is nearly dead
One more shot, one final glance
In which you may give a chance for the ultimate romance

Sure thing, all the love was lost
Lost in time, when time sometimes
Means a glass of wine, a pair of big brown eyes and a jukebox song
Oh antique minds, vintage lips
I thought that we were partners
Brothers and sisters, hello to you lovers
We are what’s dead, let it be, we’ll see
Antique minds, vintage lips
Two night owls walking nowhere hand in hand
No lights in the city, you couldn’t tell if we’re fifteen or fifty

Sure thing, all the love was lost
Lost in time, when time sometimes
Means nothing at all
And all the love was lost
But only because it could be found

This one shook me up. You speak to the heart on so many levels. It really made me think about how memories exist somewhere outside the boundaries of time and how we can relive moments over and over. Sometimes dreams can do the same. This song has it's moments of sadness, but its beautiful and sentimental as well. I found it to be meaningful and touching work.

This really struck a chord somewhere...the writing is beautiful, and that title is awesome. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it means :)

God, it has been a while since I last checked your stuff (I was dead here for a while) but you've got so much better, really.

I could definitely get some pointers from you about creating hooks. This rocks Karina.

I missed your poetry. Your words are true in this poem. Sometime hard to separate lust from love. In the end. If no friendship was create. Love can of been a myth anyway.
"Brothers and sisters, hello to you lovers
We are what’s dead, let it be, we’ll see"
Thank you for your poetry. I do enjoy. A excellent poem.
