Snow Flower

Snow Flower

A Poem by Karina Longo
"

.

"

Not even a rainy day could wash these thoughts away

How can a fragile rose survive in a grass made of snow?

Pink little petals, this is my heart

Slowly dying, iced cold memories

But can you save me, you can; I wonder, can you?

Nobody can, but you aren’t “nobody” - are you?

Broken toys and broken girls

Everybody loves to forget, goodbye my love

And if you don’t mind, I’ll take the love with me

I’ve seen the moon today and it made me think of you

So beautiful and so deceitful, irradiating strange feelings

Me, I’m so blue, I am so immensely blue - let me be the sky

So maybe you and I could be together forever - fearless eternity

But can you see me, you can; I wonder, can you?

Nobody can, but you aren’t “nobody” - are you?

Buried dreams and tired bones

Everybody loves to go away, goodbye my love

And if you don’t mind, I shall take the love with me…

I loved the questions you place in this piece. The imagery is beautiful. It's tinged with a sadness, yet at the same time with a kind of gratifying tone. Maybe that's just the way I perceive it though, like "maybe it's for the best?" Very well done piece of literature indeed. ^_^

At first read, I thought this was a little sad.. but then I read it again, and it seems a bit more defiant than that. Rather than giving in, letting love go, you're saying goodbye but keeping it anyway.

A nice story in this poem. Using a rose and love allow the reader to fall into the thoughts and the desire of this poem. I like the thoughts and the very good ending. Thank you for the excellent poem.
