Butterflies

Butterflies

A Poem by Monique Jackson
"

Feels Like High school Love Again...

"

I can't believe it,

It's like grade school days,

Didn't imagine revisiting this stage,

The fluttering in my stomach,

Little birds floating with hearts over my head,

This experience I'm feeling has me dying to be lead,

Somewhere out there,

To a place where dreams can be met,

Maybe over the rainbow to a place I haven't seen yet,

The rush of blood through my veins,

A heart beating so fast that it's insane,

To encounter this kind of excitement is an endless daydream,

Thoughts crashing,

Between mental mazes,

I'm praying to God that I never stop feeling this amazing,

The butterflies internally,

The Kodak smiles externally,

Being with you has me falling more rapidly than slowly,

It's so fast,

I can barely catch my breath,

You catching me is the only thing that's left,

A butterfly represents new beginnings,

Therefore, it erases all the non fairytale endings,

And if that's the case I'm glad that you're the one sharing this,

When I finally realized,

And stop hiding behind the disguise,

I embraced the reality that baby you give me butterflies!
