I became you

I became you

A Poem by Lizzie
"

came to me when someone asked me... how do I do it?

"

How do you do it?

Was the question you asked.

Why is it you shrug it off fast?

How can you see me struggle and not come to my aid?

How do you let me alone take the hit?

Why can’t you say you’re sorry and admit?

Admit that you were wrong and that you won’t do it again

What is there to gain?

Why won’t you laugh at my jokes

Is this just a hoax?

Why do I feel like you no longer love me

Do you just want to stay alone and just be?

As you said this I remembered these questions

And how to fix this I had many suggestions

But all that came to my mind was that this was once me this was all you would do

So I replied,  easy, I became you.

I often use questions in my poetry too--it is a way to vent and bring forth thoughts on a particular situation or a way to deal with stress as poetry often is a form of therapy by putting down your thoughts and actions in words.
You did here and it says a lot about how you felt and dealt with this situation that caused you to reflect on it through your pen. Yes, it is easy to become what was done to YOU! This was conveyed well here. Kudos to you!

There is anger here, but I Rwanda it as sadness. Or perhaps I am feeling sad at someone describing the attempt to become jaded.
